Deep Tissue and Swedish Massage

Deep Tissue Massage is usually incorporated into every treatment according to patient’s tolerance.  While the sentiment “no pain no gain” is often used (and not necessarily true), deep tissue release can be uncomfortable and usually described as a “hurts so good” feeling.  Mixing Swedish techniques (long sweeping strokes toward the heart called friction) is often involved to make sure the lymphatic system does its job to sweep the toxins released from muscles out of the body. Jessica has a knack of finding the perfect balance of deep tissue and swedish to best benefit each patient, and she considers that intuition one of her greatest gifts.   Benefits include increased oxygen in blood, therefore enhanced circulation. Hot Stone Therapy

Jessica uses river-tumbled smooth basalt stones that hold heat extraordinarily well due to their volcanic nature. The luxurious heat from the stones are guaranteed to put you in an extremely relaxed state and bathes stressed muscles and stiff joints in warmth that increases circulation 10 times more than manual massage therapy alone. Particularly healing for chronic pain such as fibromyalgia, and arthritis, hot stone massage should not be considered a luxury, but a genuine healing modality.  Contraindications include pregnancy and high blood pressure, as heat causes blood vessels to expand. The stones are heated to a perfect 135 degrees and are used to disperse heat where it is needed most to melt chronic pain and stress away from arms, legs, neck, shoulders, back (and even in between your toes!)
